Zoom Portrait with Slow Shutter Speed

In order to take this Zoom Portrait. I first needed a slow shutter speed while still having a good exposure. I found that the slowest I could go with the lighting at the shoot was. 4 seconds. I then decided to start from the zoom out position. So the photo would have a lager background and the subject would appear to be magnified. I squeezed the shutter button to take the photo and zoomed in pausing briefly 4 times one for each second that past. Since it was such a slow shutter speed it shoud be noted I used a tripod
